Entry Level 3 Essential Digital Skills
The primary focus of the course is on developing digital skills for life and introducing you to digital skills for work. The course will enable you to access and actively engage in the digital world and support your progress into and within employment.
What does the course cover?
Using devices and handling information, creating and editing, communicating, transacting, and being safe and responsible online.
How will I be assessed?
The course is assessed via an online exam and through tutor observation in class prior to the exam. You will have the opportunity to sit mock exams in preparation for assessment.
Will I get a qualification?
Gateway Certificate in Entry 3 Essential Digital Skills (subject to achievement in the final exam).

18 weeks, 2.5 hours per week
Entry requirements
No previous formal qualifications required, but you need digital skills at Entry 3 and English language skills to access the course. Initial assessment is mandatory and full attendance is expected.

The course is assessed via an online exam with mock exam preparation.

Gateway Certificate in Essential Digital Skills (subject to exam achievement).

The course will enable learners to gain confidence using a computer, access and actively engage in the digital world, and support progression into employment.
What does the course cover?
Copy and paste text, download and save files and images, understand folders and file locations, browse the internet using keywords, and use search engines and email.

Informal assessment through observation, quizzes, discussion, and feedback on work produced.
